18th Century Primitive Oak Chair

About the Item

A beautifully simple and rarely available 18th century hand crafted primitive chair, this has a lovely colour and patina to the wood and will make a wonderful statement piece for any room. The seat is made from a thick, solid piece of wood which has been worked to provide a dished shape and the legs are splayed to provide a stable base. The back has a solid frame which is infilled with a much thinner board. The space between the arms is 38 cm at the back and 40 cm at the front, so there is little splay in them and it is a relatively narrow seating position, perhaps not suitable for a larger individual. It will look great by a large fireplace or in a farmhouse kitchen.
