Anaconda Lounge Chair by Paul Tuttle

About the Item

The "Anaconda" armchair was designed by Paul Tuttle in 1971 for Strässle International, a company based in Switzerland. It features a design with a chromium-plated thick tubular steel frame, a white-coated fiberglass seat shell, and upholstery covered in leather. The "Anaconda" model was initially presented at the Cologne Furniture Fair in 1972. However, due to the high production costs involved, only six specimens of this armchair were manufactured. Its limited production makes it a rare and sought-after piece. Furthermore, the "Anaconda" armchair gained additional recognition for its appearance in the James Bond movie "Live and Let Die." Its inclusion in a popular film added to its fame and desirability among collectors and design enthusiasts.
