Set of four superb quality antique English hand-carved solid mahogany "Signed" Chippendale style side chairs with superbly pierced and hand-carved back splat; gadroon carved front seat rail; terminating in a handsome cabriole leg with acanthus leaf carved knee and ending in a ball and claw foot. Perfect for around a games table or breakfast table. Maker's label (on interior of chair rail): Thomas Clarkson and Sons, Ltd. Wolverhampton.

With superlative marquetry inlays of satinwood quarter fans on the perimeter of each drawer as well as "Adam" style satinwood and ebony fan escutcheons, to the delicate checkered inlay on the cornice frieze, this Chest on Chest has it all. Please note that this is a superior made Chest on Chest having elm drawer linings versus the traditional oak or deal (pine) all standing upon handsome ogee feet.
