Pair of Original French Art Deco Walnut and Metal Leaf Arm Chairs Paul Follot
About the Item
A splendid pair of expansive and comfortable French Art Deco armchairs attributed to Paul Follot (1877-1941) featuring gracefully curved, half-rounded backrests and stylized blade shaped arms that splay open exuding a warm and inviting ambiance.
Delicately hand-carved metal leafed floral details accent the sides of the top crest and the bottom surround. The chairs culminate in elegantly fluted toupie legs, adding to their refined allure.
Crafted from a medium-toned walnut, these fauteuils/clubs retain their original upholstery, showcasing a steely blue velveteen fabric. While they exhibit signs of age and use, their condition remains true to their vintage charm.
The width varies from 25 1/2" to 29 1/2" wide max

Frame in good condition, semi -gloss lacquer finish, mottled, variegated patina, some wear on metal leaf, minor, insignificant nicks and scuffs . Original fabric needs to be re-upholstered. Some nail heads/ tacks missing, open seam on seat cushion.
