Stylish and very comfortable antique chairs with perfect upholstery. If you are looking for an incredibly well handcrafted set of dining chairs to grace your living space then these could be perfect for you. We cannot think of a better condition nor better workmanship set of chairs to be standing by your dining table. Although a pair in your entry hall and a pair in your master bedroom, for example, would also look great. These striking chairs are not only of museum quality and near mint condition, they also are perfectly comfortable to sit in. These rare chairs with their incredibly detailed carvings are well over 100 years old and for them to be in this condition is simply amazing. One of the chairs has one old repair to the outer pillar of the back rest (see image 14). Aesthetically it is not the best repair, but it is as strong as can be and apart from that old repair these antique works of beauty could not be in better condition. Somewhere in the 1980's these chairs got re-upholstered with an excellent green velvet which too is in superb condition. Former owners could not have looked after these chairs any better and it felt like a blessing for them to have found their way to us. These chairs are as strong and stabile as the day they were handcrafted and the solid nutwood frame could not be any better either. The hand carved details in these great looking and comfortable chairs are of a quality and finesse that make them an absolute joy to look at. This kind of workmanship you certainly don't find anymore in this day and age. The striking pediments with their quiver, arrows and torch carvings are topped of by a rare, triple bow. Other stunning details are the organically beautiful finials and the perfect cannelures in the legs. Mind you, these antique chairs are part of a set and the settee and armchair were placed on 1stdibs earlier.
