About the Item

Gorgeous MCM royal blue velvet and chrome cube loveseat and chair after Milo Baughman. Comprised of a chrome frame and tufted button or button tuck inner arms and seat backs. Beautiful vintage condition. There are a few places where you can see wear to the fabric, or not wear exactly but where velvet backing can be seen between the rows of thread. This is minor and does not detract from their overall beauty. Please see photos, circa 1960s-1970s. Eva Gabor once said, “All any girl needs, at any time in history, is simple velvet and basic diamonds.” Well, we may not have the diamonds…but BOY do we have some beautiful royal blue velvet to offer you! Just feast your eyes upon this stunning set which includes a cube shaped love seat and armchair that are draped in luxurious royal blue velvet with tufted button detail. Each is labeled Monarch, a subsidiary of Mohasco. But try as we may, there is little information on this company. However, the workmanship on them is impeccable so they must have been high end production. They are very much like designs which were created by Milo Baughman and are every bit as beautiful. Considered Mid-Century Modern in style but leaning a bit toward modern, with their roots based in Bauhaus. Whatever their official style, their dynamic and cozy interior space makes them very pleasant to come home to. Created with comfort in mind, their loose cushion seats provide just that. A perfect statement set with their focal point of royal blue coloring and chrome…. Dah-ling, you need to make them yours!!
