Pair of Exceptional Antique Victorian Aesthetic Movement Chairs Mother of Pearl

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely exquisite pair of Liberty’s style Aesthetic movement occasional side chairs with mother of pearl inlay and ornate carvings A very good looking and highly decorative pair, they are basically art furniture and dripping in Aesthetic Movement carvings and colour from top to bottom. They actually have a bit of Carlo Bugatti about them which I love The condition is exquisite, there is good patina throughout which all adds to the antique looks and feel of the pair, they originally had base stretchers which for some reason were removed many years ago Dimensions Height:- 92.5cm Width:- 41.5cm Depth:- 47.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.

The walnut frames are in very good condition and have their original patina, showing some age with use, they have been lightly waxed. One of the chairs cane seats professionally re-caned, and it has been aged to resemble the other original cane seat. This same chair has had the under rail replaced in oak with two bolts, as shown in photograph number 12. This was done many years ago - I would say about 80 plus years, looking at the construction. Also added at a similar time under the seat, one small rail either side. The wooden dome...
