In the years 2020 and 2021 we became very intimate with the feeling of loneliness, perhaps one of the most terrifying feelings we can feel. It brought us pain, but also the need to rethink. Looking at my home, I found myself surrounded by objects that have had their use reinterpreted endlessly, sometimes for comfort, sometimes for socializing. The sofa is one of these objects. Initially placed face to face, almost simulating a tribal moment, the sofas are now positioned in front of the television, so that people can be in company without having to keep each other company. For this reason, their shapes are straight, aligned parallel to the wall, and designed to leave you there for hours. With the suspension of our moments of getting together, and moved by a great desire to return to them, I understood that I needed to deconstruct this object. Deconstruct the use that isolates us to rebuild a use that connects us. This deconstruction of use translate into the form, in search of a return to that first use of sofas as "a tribal circle". This process gives rise to the "Deconstruction" sofa, with an angular shape that places people sitting "face to face" to talk, socialize, discuss, and rethink.
