Stylish and excellent condition antique footstool. This incredibly good looking, large size and beautifully designed antique stool is as strong and stabile as the day it was handcrafted. It will easily take the weight of a grown-up, but we believe it was initially made as a footstool. The frame is all-handcrafted out of a beautiful nutwood and its warm patina combines really well with the superb condition green velvet (what we call 'velours'). This rare antique is made of quality materials only and because of its design this stool is an absolute joy to own, use and look at. However, what makes it really stand out is the perfectly and deeply buttoned seat. It just gives it that extra classy look and feel. This padded upholstery was redone around 1970-1980 and the overal condition of this unique stool tells us that former owners took excellent care of this marvel of late 1800s European workmanship. This fine stool will look great in a living room, near a fireplace, in a bedroom or in a library and its unique design and quality will never go out of fashion. This is one of those striking antiques that can normally only be found in country houses.
