Italian Neoclassical Faux Marble Lacquer and Giltwood Open Shelves Cabinets

Add extra shelving and storage space to your living room, library or study with this important antique architecturally hand- carved open cabinets or bookcases in Neoclassical style. Crafted in Venice, Italy, during 19th Century, these elegant faux marble lacquer and parcel gilt display cabinets feature a gorgeous architectural shape with graduated giltwood cornice on top and a graduated giltwood moulded socle, a big niche with shelf across the front and a very spacious compartment with a door below. Wonderful scale and proportions, statement hight and width but depth narrow enought to place these storage case pieces of furniture even in an entryway hallow. This dramatic pair of Italian neoclassical bookcase is painted with a fantastic "trompe l'oeil" polychrome faux marble treatment and has gorgeous hand-sculpted carvings with gold leaves finish throughout featuring scrolls, putto, ribbons, fruit and rosette motifs. Masterfully painted overall to simulate different kind of marbles such as grey Carrara, green of the Alps and yellow Siena marble these large cabinets feature beautiful calm tones lacquer that perfectly alternates with gold leaves gilded details with an incredible overall original patina. Each of these palatial finely carved bookcases has a paint central door below, that reveals an useful compartment for plenty of space, finely decorated with a coat of arms. The cabinets are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use.
