This beautiful French late 19th century chest of drawers in black ebonized wood and cherrywood reproduces with perfect proportions in scale a miniature cabinet with three drawers and an upper flap door that opens to reveal a white marble top and an oval mirror inside, nice hand carved band on top with geometrical pattern and molded base. The black lacquered wood creates a wonderful contrast with the beautiful honey-colored wood grain. Despite its convenient size, extremely detailed, this chest of drawers is equipped with a white Carrara marble top and a small mirror that make it even more special and useful. The model of a piece of furniture was originally created by cabinet makers to show their skills to the customer and to present the sample of the furniture which would then have been produced on a larger scale. These commode miniatures, along with other specimens, were displayed in the craftsman's workshop to serve as examples to aid the potential client in making a selection. Awesome vintage Art Deco dry bar or liquor cabinet comprised of Philippine mahogany. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. We have added a new black painted base. There were several small areas that have been repaired or veneer replaced. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Early to Mid-20th Century. It's 5 O’clock somewhere!! What a FANTASTIC vintage Art Deco dry bar or liquor cabinet!! It is comprised of wonderful Philippine Mahogany and finished all the way around so it can float nicely in any room you choose, plus we have added a lovely new black painted base… and it looks FABULOUS! The front double doors are spilt at the top and in the center by a wood handle that runs the length of the doors of the cabinet. So, you can open the smaller top section and leave the lower portion closed or vice versa. The right door closes over the left, so simply pull the right-hand door using the handle which reveals the inside of the cabinet featuring shelves and a small center storage unit with doors. Piano hinges assist each door in opening and the back of the doors are lined with a gorgeous vintage bark cloth...
