Early 19th Century Country French Buffet ~ Sideboard

About the Item

Early 19th Century Country French Buffet ~ Sideboard is an ingenious design for an average sized family! Two tall, spacious cabinets on each side flank a center section comprised of four drawers, allowing one to store everything needed for dining and entertaining! Hand-crafted from select old-growth oak, it features a solid plank top with beveled edge, contrasting with the graceful scrolls of the apron below with subtly scrolled legs and paw feet. Ornamentation is primarily through the hand-crafted molding detail, but some carvings of stylized shell, wildflowers and foliage appear on the tops of the cabinet doors. Solid brass key guards on the doors and top drawer work with the brass pulls on the remaining drawers. Brass barrel hinges allow the doors to swing extra wide for easy access to the two surfaces within each cabinet. Note the hand-cut solid planks on the back.
