Early 19th Century Country French Louis XVI Whitewashed Oak Buffet
About the Item
Early 19th century country French Louis XVI whitewashed oak buffet was designed to maximize storage while providing a minimal footprint on the floor plan. Tailored neoclassical architecture is enhanced by subtle molded detail and brilliant bas relief on the cabinet doors depicting stylized ribbon, floral and foliate designs. Pegged mortise & Tenon joints were hand-crafted for decades of daily use. Brass hinges are mounted to allow the doors to open wide, with complementary brass key guards and drawer pulls. The gently whitewashed oak finish provide a soft, pleasing visual appeal.
