19th Century Indian Wooden Cabinet with Single Fretwork Door and Brass Handle

About the Item

An Indian wooden cabinet from the 19th century, with single fretwork door and brass ring handle. Created in India during the 19th century, this wooden cabinet features a single door adorned with hand-carved geometric fretwork patterns. The piece is topped with a molded cornice and rests on a delicately carved bracketed plinth. The door opens thanks to a patinated brass ring pull with flower-shaped backplate to reveal a central shelf. Two simple wooden latches placed in the upper and lower sections help keep the door closed. With its hand-carved fretwork door and charming rustic appearance, this 19th century Indian cabinet will bring a touch of authenticity to any home, whether placed in a bedroom, living room or mudroom.
