Chinese Qing Dynasty 19th Century Brown Lacquer Cabinet with Brass Hardware

About the Item

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period compound cabinet from the 19th century, with two drawers and brass medallion. We currently have two available, priced and sold $6,500 each. Created in China during the Qing dynasty, this compound cabinet features a smaller chest stacked on top of a regular sized cabinet. Compound cabinets were used for storage. The top would contain out of season clothing while the main cabinet would be used as a wardrobe for everyday use including bedding and clothes for the season. The cabinet showcases a brown lacquer perfectly complimenting its linear silhouette. The main section's doors open thanks to a traditional brass medallion, to reveal inner shelves and hidden drawers offering great storage opportunities, while the ensemble is raised on straight feet connected to one another through an apron on three sides. With its clean lines and brown patina, this 19th century Qing Dynasty compound cabinet will be an excellent addition to any bedroom or living room.
