Pair of Art Deco Cabinets or Armoires in the Manner of Sue et Mare

About the Item

Outstanding pair of Art Deco cabinets or armoires in the manner of Sue et Mare. These examples of fine cabinet making exhibit mortise and tenon construction throughout utilizing satinwood, mahogany and ebony. The beautifully cast and chased bronze mounts and cabinet hardware reflect a floral cornucopia motif seen on examples by Sue et Mare. The base of each cabinet is also mounted with a hand-hammered bronze trim. The bench crafting, premium materials and possibly unique bronze mounts and hardware on these pieces suggest that they are the product of an important commission executed by a highly talented cabinetmaker.
