18th Century English Chippendale Mahogany Chest with Desk Drawer

About the Item

A fine example an English Chippendale four drawer mahogany chest with a rectangular top with molded edge surmounting a case with four graduated drawers, the top of which converted to a pull out compartmentalized desk with felted writing surface with under storage, flanked by divided compartments for writing supplies, over three graduated dovetailed long drawers, all with batwing brasses, carved reeded corner columns, and wide board back, all supported by four carved bracket feet. The chest dates to the late 18th or early 19th century in very good condition, with minor shrinkage cracks, and light surface wear commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 33 in H x 39.25 in W x 20.5 in D. Ref: 636.
