Blue Rococo Small Oak Chest of Drawers, Denmark circa 1750-70

About the Item

A small oak rococo chest of three drawers with brass key escutcheons. The scalloped edge of the top is carried down through the 3 drawer fronts and bottom apron resulting in an elegant, bow front case all resting on four cabriole legs. The newer, professionally applied finish is in layered shades of blue, white and seafoam with a contrasting black top. The paint has been distressed in places to expose the oak beneath, enhancing the patina and fitting the age and grace of this lovely chest. The size makes it adaptable to use as a nightstand, side table or simply small chest of drawers. Made of oak, this chest of 3 drawers has been restored, drawers work and it is ready to be used and enjoyed. Locks in the upper two drawers still function, the bottom does not so key is used as a pull (one key included). Any scratches, cracks, dings, or age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this attractive small chest of drawers. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting may all impact how item is viewed.
