Louis XV Period Marquetry Commode with Marble Top
About the Item
An unusual and very high quality Louis XV period commode with two drawers and elegant cabriole legs (also called a "sauteuse"), with finely-cast gilt-bronze mounts and grey and white marble top. The marquetry detailing features a ground of bois de rose, amboyna wood tinted green on the drawer fronts, and geometric cube marquetry on the sides. The mounts on the leg feature mascarons.
