Louis XVI Commode Stamped Nicolas Virrig
About the Item
Nicolas Virrig - Paris - Master April 11, 1781
Important Louis XVI chest of drawers with central projection in marquetry presenting on the front reserves in rosewood treated as butterfly wings and delimited by superb friezes simulating a ribbon wrapped around a green tinted net on a background of amaranth and rosewood.
The upper part is decorated with a frieze of triangular prisms.
Opening three drawers in three rows, two of which without transvers.
Saint Anne gray marble top molded.
Beautiful chiseled and gilded bronze ornamentation.
Built in oak.
Marble top, locks and original bronzes.
Stamped VIRRIG twice on the right front and rear uprights.
Very good condition, completly revarnished with a pad by our workshop (french polish).
