19th Century French Standing Secrétaire / Dry Bar with Tambour Doors, Marble Top

About the Item

A 19th century, French secrétaire with beautiful feathered woodwork, eucalyptus fillet inlay with Louis XVI style detailing. The wood grain veneer is artfully arranged in geometric patterns on both front and sides, and the sliding tambour doors add visual interest. The top surface is a single slab of off-white colored marble with an intricate pattern of green veining. Featuring ample storage space, with shelves above and below and two drawers in between, this handsome and well-proportioned writing bureau could definitely see use as a dry bar, with evening cocktails mixed on the slide-out writing surface at center.
