About the Item

Direct from England, a stunning antique English carved oak sideboard cabinet, over 6 ft. tall and 5.5 ft. length, it will certainly be a statement piece in any room!~ ~Hand carved details throughout, with a big serpentine crown having a center medallion carved lion head. Carvings continue on the four carved panels across the upper back and around the beveled mirror. Note the carved masks on the large panels flanking the mirror~ ~Big carved, shaped & turned baluster posts support the upper~ ~Two full length drawers with carved fronts and dimensional carved mask drawer pulls~ ~Three carved panel doors, each having matching dimensional carved mask center medallions~ ~More of the carved mask and Black Forest style dimensional carvings down both sides of the main cabinet~ ~Ornate carved legs that match the upper baluster supports!~ ~So much display and storage area, with flat cabinet top, the two full size drawers, the three areas behind the doors, and the lower open storage (potboard)~ ~All the attention to detail here…cabinet top has carved beveled edges, as does the lower ‘potboard’~ ~Dovetail joinery on the drawers, quality construction~ ~English oak, heavy and strong, well built by craftsmen of the period~ ~circa 1880~ Measurements: 75” height (over 6 ft) x 66” x 25.5”. Flat top base only, approx. 39.5” height x 66” x 25.5”. Upper cabinet with inset mirror, approx. 26.5” height x 66” x 12”. High carved crown piece, 9” height x 62” x 1.25”.

Wear consistent with age and use. Good condition for its age, normal signs of age, use, dings, scratches, imperfections. 3 keys included for opening doors, but locks are NOT working properly. Lower cabinet could have shelves added by buyer. Original mirror is clear, but has age spots.
