American Mahogany Gallery Sideboard with Conch Shell and Patera Inlays. C. 1840

About the Item

American Hepplewhite style mahogany sideboard with an acorn brass and mahogany rail gallery supported by a curvature and straight inlaid holly top, centered patera inlaid drawer over two lower conch shell inlaid cabinet drawers, original lions head pull brasses, two flanking conch shell inlaid hinged cabinets, and terminating on the original squared tapered string inlaid legs, Mid-19th century. Example of this sideboard was displayed in the private dinning room of the White House in the 1970s.
