Chinese Great Plains Coffer, c. 1880

About the Item

Created in the style of Mongolian storage coffers, this late 19th-century herdsman's chest has a straightforward design and plenty of rustic appeal. Originally configured to open from the top, this chest was modified with front-facing doors by our carpenters skilled in traditional joinery. The interior has been updated with a single shelf for additional storage. Ideal as a sideboard or credenza, this cabinet enriches modern interiors with wabi-sabi texture and rich brown color.
