Sideboard by Joaquim Tenreiro, Brazil, Circa 1942

About the Item

Sideboard by Joaquim Tenreiro, a early piece in his production; 1942, indicated by the label of the factory : Laubisch-Hirth. After 1943, Tenreiro will run his own production factory. Inspired by the European Modern design and the Art Deco period, the side board is made with luxurious materials as black and off white lacquer, caviuna wood and brass. Two slide doors open frontally to a delicate wood cabinet. Never seen on the market, a table from the same lacquer finished is published in the book dedicaded to Tenrerio. Labelled on the back and inside. Perfect condition, no restauration. The front doors slide along with help. Provenance : Private collection, Rio de Janeiro (information and photos on request).
