Late 19th Century Louis XVI Style Mahogany Console Vitrine with Bronze Detailing
About the Item
This mid nineteenth century French Louis XVI style mahogany console vitrine features fluted corners and bronze banding on its facade and sides. The upper cabinet is finished with glass on three sides and its two doors open to access its fabric lined interior with three glass shelves, allowing for objects to be viewed from multiple angles. The lower console has a single drawer of dovetail construction fitted with bronze squared drop handles. The cabinet is supported by fluted legs joined by a lower shelf that provides stability as well as additional display space. Resting on turned tapered feet finished with bronze rings and sabots, this piece, with its interior lighting, is ideal for displaying stemware or a special collection. Upper cabinet and lower console are separate pieces which makes for easier shipping. Includes one key. c. 1860.
