Belgian Oak Armoire, circa 1820

About the Item

Crafted in Liege, Belgium, the beauty of solid, quarter sawn oak is prominently displayed on the raised panels of the sides and on the doors of this large armoire. Small carvings of pineapple encircled by C scrolls with acanthus leaves adorn the corners of the door panels, while the side panels have been left unadorned. Three elaborate carvings Cascade down the centre and sides near the crown cornice at the top of the armoire. The armoire's open interior makes an ideal place for a large screen television, or use the pegs and upper bar for hanging clothing, making a spacious wardrobe. Bun feet support the armoire.
