About the Item
Stone coffee table on two L-shaped metal plates. Desiged and signed by artist Paul Kingma.
Paul Kingma, born in 1931, was a Dutch Sculptor and mosaic artist. In his early years he studied art in Arnhem and became a teacher at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In his career he made several sculptures for public spaces in Dutch cities. Next to his sculptures, he also made mosaic tables. It were these tables he became most famous for. All of his coffee tables he hand made with materials he gathered during his travels around the world, are now being considered as highly collectable. He made these tables from the 1960s to the 1980s and died in 2013 at the age of 81.
