19th C. Bleached Oak X-Leg Table or Desk, France

About the Item

A French bleached-oak table, with great legs, from the 19th century. This antique table from France features a rectangular-shaped four-board top, which is raised on a pair of x-style trestle legs which have been carved in a fabulously whimsical design and terminate into feet which somewhat resemble animal hooves. There is a post stretcher bar that runs beneath the table, bracing the legs for further support. The oak has a lightly bleached finish with a protective coat of clear poly. This 19th century French trestle table is approximately 7 feet in length, making it a great option for a dining table or perhaps a fabulous desk floated within a room.
