Z-II-I Contemporary Brass Mosaic Side Table, Flow Collection
By Jonathan Amar
Located in Paris, FR
Contemporary handcrafted guéridon side table composed of a solid brass structure and designed with an intricate black mosaic tile tabletop in a modern graphic zellige design. The Zel-II.I.360 Model I is part of the Flow collection, an ode to movement created by Jonathan Amar in his studios between Paris and Rabat. Flow Collection, Zel.2.1.360. 21st Century Base type 1 Solid french polished brass Moroccan Zellige, pattern 2, Blue On picture measures 36 cm in diameter The Flow collection is an ode to movement designed by Jonathan Amar composed of artisanal articulating lamps and side tables following three years of research and development between his office in Paris and his atelier in Rabat. FUNCTIONALITY - Built with sophisticated joints, extendible arms and lampshades with adjustable stems. - Equipped with the latest LED sensory dimming or wireless technologies. - Available in a variety of sizes to cover all types of living areas. CRAFTSMANSHIP Handcrafted in France and Morocco with French and Italian materials, Flow honours the relationship between meticulous workmanship and quality materials through the thickness, finishes and fixtures of each creation. Due to the handmade nature each piece is unique and might vary slightly in finish. MATERIALS Brass, the central element of each creation, is available in an array of finishes: nickel-plated, polished or aged. The finish you select and the way you care for your Flow throughout the years will result in one of a kind pieces. Since Brass is a metal which works well with a multitude of materials, Jonathan Amar has associated it with a unique selection of colours and textures. Fabric and wicker are used to design lampshades ; Zellige and marbles form table tops and bases ; lamp stems are sheathed in hand pleated leather by artisan saddlers. Hand-engravings, the iconic know-how of our atelier, are available on a selected number of models as an additional request About Jonathan Amar Born in Rabat in 1955 and raised in France from an early age, Jonathan Amar is one of the first designers to export artisanal Moroccan know-how abroad. His eclectic bringing up, from both shores of the Mediterranean, the teaching he acquired during his travels around the world, make him without a doubt one of the most unusual designers-creators of his generation. He is behind the New Age and Ethno-Chic Baroque movements or the art of blending the world's cultures, creating places where exceptional decoration is an essential element. Indeed, he has the talent of merging various elements - even disparate - and integrating them into a new aesthetic set. His style will give birth to a number of movements which will inspire many artists and decorators. This ability allows him to undertake all types of projects, appropriate various volumes and he quickly develops a flair for lighting arrangements, giving each of his projects a strong identity. In 1985, at the age of 30, Hubert Boukobza entrusts him with the artistic direction of ”Les Bains Douches". It is a true institution of Parisian...

"Decomplexe" Stone Side Table Sculpted by Frederic Saulou
By Frederic Saulou
Located in Geneve, CH
"Décomplexé" stone side table sculpted by Frederic Saulou. Materials: Buffon stone. Dimensions: D 38 x H 50 cm, approximately 70 kg. "While wandering in the streets I have been observing buildings construction toward the sky and found myself eagerly interested in slate material and ornamental stones. I am wondering about post-Industrial heritage of local mineral material and widen the range of possibilities in creating functional objects for the house and in questioning history, material and its usual impact between art and design. Thus, I want to distort, democratize and increase the value of this material as a future heritage and above all as a food for thought. To bring traditional and Industrial know-how face to face for creative purposes, to reinterpret the material in formal and conceptual ways so as to provide it a new understanding." Frederic Saulou's sculpted design artworks introduce a series of work coming from researches and partnerships between local ateliers and designer, and implemented to another scale: That of the object and contemporary creation. Frédéric Saulou is a proeminent French contemporary designer. Born in 1989, Frédéric Saulou, lives and works in Rennes, in France. Graduated in space and environmental design at the Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués (LISAA) in 2011 and in object design at the Ecole Européenne Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Rennes (EESAB) in 2013, Frédéric will continue to perfect his experience within the Eric Gizard Associés agency and with the designer Frédéric Ruyant. In 2013, he founded the studio - Frédéric Saulou Design Studio - an independent and multidisciplinary design and consulting agency that sees design as a space for research and exchange that allows him to develop a sensitive approach to forms and materials. Experimentation and research take precedence over his work in order to think of new materials and new uses. This accompanies his daily approach so that each project is conceived as a sculpture in its own right, between simplicity and technicality. His approach guides him towards a global approach but also unique in his creations, thus creating particular interactions between the user and the object, between industrial craftsmanship. Today Frédéric works on various projects, from objects to space, in series or limited editions and collaborates with prestigious institutions and brands such as the publishing houses Ligne Roset, Drugeot Manufacture, Brossier Saderne, Vista Alegre, Esprit Porcelaine Limoges...
