1920's Extendable side table
About the Item
This is an original extendable side table believed to be produced in the early 1920’s.
This type of side table was produced from 19th century and was a very popular piece for its practicality. The table has been designed with a careful attention to every detail; proportions, precise joinery and beautiful colour of the beech wood. The simplicity and elegance of its shape together with the beautiful material, the table still holds great design appeal and is the perfect addition to a home.
The two individual tabletops are connected by hinges and as they are resting on each other, the table can very easily be extended by simply turning one tabletop onto the other side with a full length of 89 cm.
This piece is in good vintage condition showing only minimal natural wear and tear gained over the years. The table have been recently restored using original techniques and respecting the character of the piece whilst reviving the natural pattern of the wood. The table tops are slightly curved in some parts due to its age which actually adds charm and unique character to the whole piece.
