18th C. Italian Occasional Table w/Drawer Raised on Ball Turned & Carved Legs

About the Item

An Italian occasional table with single drawer, from the 18th century. This antique table from Italy has a rectangular-shaped top, which overhangs the apron below which houses a single drawer at one side. The table is raised on four ball-turned and carved legs (which angle outward slightly). The legs are braced with a box stretcher just above their feet. This piece, which is either walnut or tiger maple wood, has a fabulous old patina; a beautiful reflection of is long history and use. This 18th century Italian table with drawer will make a marvelous addition to your home or office.

    An Italian double gate-leg table from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique table from Italy features a rectangular-shaped center top flanked within two drop leaves along either side, which when raised and supported by the beautifully turned gate legs, create a larger circular-shaped table. The apron houses two drawers; a single drawer at either far side of the table. The rounded and turned legs are supported within a squared box stretcher just above their squared feet. The medium tone wood is warm and has a charming patina; a show of it's history and prior use. Please note that there is some slight warping at the top of this piece. Refer to additional images for more detail on condition. This late 18th to early 19th century Italian table offers great functionality, easily fitting into many spaces with leaves down, perhaps as a console table, and having the ability to convert into a larger circular table...
