About the Item
The paintings with flowers Mazzo Di Rose proposed here is an oil painting on canvas from the early twentieth century. Art Deco.
Note that the beautiful carved and lacquered wooden frame is original and coeval, 1930s.
These are paintings on canvas, still life, from the early 1900s, depicting roses in a ceramic vase.
The work is signed at upper left Dubost Michel (1879-1952), French painter of portraits and still lifes and nudes.
Dubost Michel (1879-1952), was born in Lyon where he studied at the School of Fine Arts and in 1920
becomes a professor in floral painting. From 1923 to 1933 he was a textile designer at the Ducharne company.
He then founded a textile design school in Paris in 1933. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes in Paris between 1935 and 1936.
In 1935 he exhibited at the "Salon Des Tuileries" and later still in Paris at the "Salon Des Artstes Indépendants."
The frame and painting are carefully and professionally restored.
