Pair of Mountain Landscapes from the 20th Century
About the Item
Pair of paintings depicting mountain landscape.
Two oil on panel paintings depicting roped parties of climbers probably walking the same mountain trail in winter and summer.
The summer picture has the imposing mountain still snow-capped as a background, in the foreground instead is a rope team of climbers ascending the lush hill at the foot of the mountain, in the distance rural houses can be glimpsed.
The winter painting, on the other hand, depicts a roped party of Alpine troops intent on descending the snowy mountain heading toward large clouds.
Both paintings present a textured surface and are made with great masters note the meticulous care of the characters.
Signed at lower right E. Ghezzi probable painter from the Cuneo area about whom we have been unable to find information, dated 1st/2nd half of the 20th century.
The paintings are in an excellent state of preservation and have no defects.
