Original 1960's Continental Travel Poster
About the Item
Original English 1960's coach panel poster promoting holidays to Paris, Brittany, Belgium and Holland in continental Europe.
This rare poster would have been displayed in a UK travel agent's office or in a bus or coach serving routes around Britain. Coach firms had a captive market before the advent of mass car ownership and these small posters were a reliable form of advertising.
Karo colourfully illustrates a holiday-maker in sunglasses and wearing a sun hat bearing the national flags of France, Belgium and Holland.
This would have been a generic poster used by many of the local bus companies, in this case Hants and Dorset.
The poster is in mint condition and is linen backed to allow ease of handling and framing.
