Early 20th Century Emilio Vasarri Lithograph in Arts & Crafts Wood Frame
About the Item
This rare early 20th century lithograph depicts an image originally executed by Italian artist Emilio Vasarri in 1909. The piece features a scene from classical antiquity and depicts a seated noblewoman along with two attendants. The woman is in the process of dressing and holds an Etruscan necklace in her hands while the young girl standing at her side holds a mirror. The other attendant kneels at her feet as she laces the woman's sandal. The scene includes other classical elements consisting of a frieze made up of putto in the background located beneath a wide Greek Key border along with a large black-figure terracotta stamnos off to the right.
The lithograph is housed under glass in a wooden Arts & Crafts frame. The frame is finished with a series of raised beads at the interior edge and molded foliate decoration at the outer edge.
The visible portion of the artwork is 19.375" in diameter while the framed piece has a diameter of 27.5".
