Set of Four 18th Century Frames with Saint Engravings by German Klauber

About the Item

A set of four frames with Klauber 18th century engravings within stunning rectangular frames in gold-leaf gilded wood with lapis lazuli blue color paper inserts in the external profile, with gold decorations. Under the original glass we find the effigies of Saints Ambrose, Gregory Martyr, Augustine and Geronimo engraved by the German Katharina Klauber (1740-1813) belonging to the well-known family of engravers from Augusta in Germany specialized in sacred images of exceptional quality. Specifically the etchings depict: S. Gregorius M. Conscripsit sermones rectissimos et veritate plenos. Eccles.12.10; S. Ambrosius Sunt quaedam difficilia intellectu 2.Petr.3.16; S. Augustinus Tria sunt difficilia mihi. Pov.30.18; S. Hieronymus Columnae Coeli contremiscunt et pavent. Iob.26.11. The engravings are framed by a red line with a light blue passepartout. In good age related condition, the items show minimal signs of humidity. Please kindly notice that this artwork is shipped from Italy.
