Victor Vasarely, “Torony III”, Op Art Serigraph, Signed and Numbered, 1970s

About the Item

A 1970s framed Victor Vasarely limited edition Op art serigraph titled “Torony III”, signed and numbered 35/250. Three-dimensional ovoid shape comprised of warped fluorescent red, green, and blue stepped blocks of varied brightness that call to mind the Classic early-‘80s arcade & home video game Q*bert. A visually striking example of Vasarely’s (b. 1906–1997) signature style, developed as the undisputed and prolific leader of the Op art movement. Signed and numbered in pencil by the artist at bottom. Large format screen print meticulously executed on white high quality archival paper with embossed “HMK” mark at bottom right. Presented in its original polished and brushed aluminum frame under acrylic glazing. Dimensions listed are overall; art is H 24.25 in. x 24.75 in.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Art in very good vintage condition; colors bright, deep, and true with no signs of fading. Paper slightly warped at right due to frame; correctible. A few marks/scratches on frame. A couple small, light scuffs on glazing. More photos on request.
