Pair of Baroque Putti Cherubs, Polychrome & Gilt Wood, French Pyrenees ca 1700
About the Item
Pair of original Baroque wooden putti / winged cherubs.
We were told that they originate from a church in the French Pyrenees.
We suppose they are from circa 1650 to 1750.
The putti come with their original paint and gilt and show patina according to age.
They have not been overpainted.
Both putti have a metal hook on back which was added at some point later so they can easily be hung on a wall.
Very decorative!

Depth without hook: 7,5 cm and 8 cm.
