19th C Black Forest Animal Board with a Boar's Head and 2 Dogs
About the Item
This is an animal board or boar's head board. The carvings on top are of a boar's head with 2 dogs on either side. There are also grapes and vines that entwine around the animals, and the vine continues to drape down the sides of the board. There are 2 old screws and 2 old nails as well as other small holes that we believe held up a chalk board for a pub or restaurant to use for daily menus. This animal board would also make a great mirror.

- Condition:Appropriate for it's age. The boar's nose is worn a tad on the end. The boards separated in the middle which is common while wood adjusts to a new climate.
