Rare large earthenware vessel Italian master Salvatore Meli 1955 Italy1955 Monumental Salvatore Meli Hand-Glazed Italian Earthenware Vessel from 1955 measuring 18” wide x 10” deep x 26” tall. Top side of base is signed Meli 55 Roma. Possibly the largest and most interesting mid-century ceramic object by Meli to be offered in many years. Biographical notes: SALVATORE MELI, was born in Comiso, June 1, 1929, lives and works in Rome, the Via Appia Antica in the Studio. It 'was a lecturer in the School of Public Ceramic Art of Civita Castellana (Rm) and the latest headlines Special course "Miscellaneous Techniques of Sculpture" at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome.
