Susie Cooper Art Deco Tableware dishes rare, Tango pattern
About the Item
Today, one usually finds a single cup, a jug or plate at auction. but here is a stunning set of luncheon plates, cake/bread plates, cups, saucers and berry bowls with an oval serving bowl and pticher.. A few pieces have slight crazing, some have some shading from 'hand painting' and there are only five berry bowls, but this is a wonderful find for a collector...even if only for a dynamic display!
Along with Clarice Cliff and Charlotte Rhead, Susie Cooper is famous for introducing vivid colors and avant garde designs to English Pottery and this is one of the finest and most collectable. Her career, highly documented in many books on Art Deco and Ceramics spanned more than 60 years, including her “Deco Era “ work at Crown Pottery in Burslem in the 30s through the 60s and 70s as a master designer at Wedgewood China.

Charger Plate Set Six Dinner Plates Serveware Tableware Majolica Painted Italy
By deBlona
Located in Recanati, IT
Set of six majolica charger plates is handmade and hand-painted in Italy following the original Renaissance painting technique, unchanged over time, which we observe to the letter.
The elegant decoration is composed of a halo of blue foliage that resembles four groups of wings: from the center of the plate, further ornamental elements develop, projected outwards, which give movement to the entire compositional structure. The beauty of these majolica plates is underlined by the artist's visible brushstrokes that give them a unique style.
