Victorian Cherub Angel Enamel Bangle Bracelet Putti Sterling Silver Rare
About the Item
This is very rare and wonderful Victorian Enamel Bangle Bracelet with an image of two Winged Cherub or Angels lying on a grassy meadow with greenery behind with a beautiful blue sky. The romantic and charming image is done in enamel with gorgeous colors and details and is the work of a master artisan. I love the image of the two angels. One cherub has butterfly wings while the other has feather wings - how delightful! The area of the bangle surrounding the angel cartouche is adorned with engraving and black enamel in a leaf garland motif of great beauty. The bracelet is silver and is extensively hallmarked. The hallmarks are quite worn and difficult to decipher. The bangle opens to fit over the wrist and has a safety chain. It is so rare to find enamel bracelets with images of Cherubs or Angels. I love the delicate design of love and romance with the garland leaf motif. The special bracelet dances delightfully on the wrist and creates a conversation piece to be passed on for generations. The bracelet comes in its original fitted green velvet box. The bracelet dates to circa 1830 - 1900.
The interior of the bracelet is 2 1/4 inches (56mm) by 1 7/8 inches (48mm).
The interior circumference of the bracelet is 6.5 inches.
The bracelet is hallmarked on the clasp and on the interior of the bangle.
The bracelet is sterling silver.
There is a very tiny surface crack on the enamel near the foot of the angel on the right. This is only on the surface enamel and does not affect the enamel painting at all. This is almost impossible to see without a jeweler's loop but we wanted to mention it.
