About the Item
A collector's set. A rare and famous design by Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel for Georg Jensen, of. a cuff and earring set, Denmark, c. 1960. Earrings are stamped Georg Jensen, Sterling, Denmark, 126. Bracelet is stamped Georg Jensen, Sterling, Denmark, 107, NJ. Earrings measure approximately 1.25” long x .75” wide. The inside circumference of the bracelet is about 6.5" and it is very comfortable to wear.
Nanna Ditzel arguably was the most successful and versatile Danish designer across fields – including furniture and jewelry – in the 20th century. She was the first woman to design jewelry for Georg Jensen, starting in 1954; she began to create jewelry while her children slept. Ditzel had a long career and went on to win numerous major national and international awards for her minimal, finely shaped works in silver and gold, boldly advancing the “Scandinavian style” in jewelry and furniture.
