Antique Circa 1910 Constructed completely of 14 Karat White Gold with intricate Filigree work throughout, as well as a Bale added at a later time. To be worn as a Pendant, or a Pin/Brooch if desired. Containing 3 Genuine Earth-Mined Oval cut Natural Alexandrites Center Plum/Violet color weighing approximately 1 carat & 2 lighter Blue-Green colors totaling approximately 0.50 carats Set in Rectangular shield design, which was much more unusual in the Pre Art Deco period; Most were in a convex elongated marquise / oval shaped design. Very few precious gemstones are as valuable as a Diamond, Alexandrite being one. Truly a world-renowned precious gem, rating the 2nd of rarest Gemstones on Earth according to the Guinness World Records. Alexandrite is also used as the birthstone for those born in the month of June as of the late 1950s, along with Pearl & Moonstone, although Alexandrite ranks the most precious of the three. NOTE: 2 Smaller Alexandrites giving out a grey/purple hue on camera.. They are a Blue-ish 'Soft' Green.. Opaque as well, not completely transparent.. Simply a characteristic of naturally earth-mined Gemstones.. Many Alexandrites do not photograph true to color..
