Antique Victorian 18K gold cherub brooch with emeralds and natural pearls

About the Item

For sale a Victorian era, 18K gold brooch capturing the timeless charm of an enamored cherub, delicately hand-painted with intricate detail. Nestled amidst a canvas of fine enamel, this cherub conveys an aura of innocence and playfulness, with rosy cheeks and curly hairs as well as a mischievous smile that enchants the beholder. Accentuating this cherub's ethereal presence are lavish golden scrolls adorned with two emeralds and four natural pearls. The emeralds, with their vivid green hue, resonate harmoniously with the warmth of the gold, while the pearls exude a soft elegance, creating a captivating contrast. The brooch is stamped with the French owl hallmark for 18K gold on the C-catch. The pin of the brooch is made in metal. Cherubs, angels, and cupids have long served as symbols of romance and affection, prevalent in sentimental jewelry of the 19th century, conveying love or mourning for cherished ones. • Victorian Era 18k Gold Natural Seed Pearls Angel Brooch
    Located in Versailles, FR
Some of the most endearing antique jewelry of every era feature little winged beings. Angels, or cherubs, embody sacred love, and may be understood as guardians. On the other hand, enameled jewelry is among the most researched jewelry items in the eyes of the antique jewelry collectors because it offers an almost infinite combination of craftsmanship and artistry across different themes and styles. In front of us a very refined French work Victorian era enameled brooch, featuring a loving winged angel/cherub (a charming, chubby child with wings). We love his mischievous yet very sweet smile, colorful touch of grace, the extreme attention to the details as well as its symbolism: It is a well-known secret language for love, courage and guidance in the Victorian era. The colors used in the enamel show softness and tenderness: the mix of the pastel tones such as rose, blue and green is calming while heartwarming. We also appreciate the elegant mounting of this piece: the central panel is mounted in a 18K gold floral frame...

  • Antique 18k Gold LFG Certified Natural Pearl Diamond Bow Brooch
    Located in Versailles, FR
Elegant, beautiful and feminine, the bow is a fine jewelry motif that never seems to go out of style. The bow jewelry, also a traditional symbol of love and romance, is also a sentimental gift to offer or to receive. But this is not the only reason why we love this magnificent diamond bow brooch : this exceptional piece is made of two natural pearls, certified by LFG. (French gemological laboratory). Its certificate proves that the larger baroque pearl on the bottom, is a natural fresh water pearl in good luster; while the smaller round shaped pearl in the center of the bow is a natural salt water pearl in very good luster. The larger pearl is attached to the brooch by its original hoop system on the back - the pearl can be detached from the brooch to be worn as a pendant and the bow can be used to hold another piece such as a pocket watch. (please see the last photo to show you). People have coveted natural pearls as symbols of wealth and status for thousands of years. A natural pearl forms in a pearl-bearing mollusk with no human intervention or assistance. Pearl culturing, plastic buttons, and oil drilling...

Arrows have been used in sentimental jewelry for centuries and have had various symbolic meanings over time. In the Victorian era, arrows were associated with sentimentality and affection. Arrows were often incorporated into jewelry pieces, such as brooches and lockets, as a symbol of devotion and fidelity. They were also used in jewelry to signify direction, pointing the wearer towards their true love or guiding them through the journey of life. But what makes this piece really special is the use of the cat-eye chrysoberyl which is not often to be found. A cat's eye chrysoberyl gemstone...
