About the Item
An early Victorian jasmine petal diamond brooch, the brooch in the design of a six-petalled diamond encrusted flower head with a central old brilliant-cut diamond, the diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 6.00 carats, all cut-down set in silver to a yellow gold mount and pin fitting, circa 1840, measuring approximately 3.7cm in diameter, gross weight 7.7 grams.
This antique brooch is in very good condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold and silver.
This glittering diamond brooch comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. It is in the shape of a jasmine flower, a flower symbolising delicate beauty and purity. This piece was made in the mid nineteenth century and features a scintillating central diamond surrounded by six diamond set petals. This piece sparkles with a combined diamond weight of six carats, making it an alluring and eye-catching antique piece.
