Victorian Diamond Spray Brooch
About the Item
A Victorian diamond spray brooch, the flower-head centrally-set with an old-cut diamond estimated to weigh 0.8 carats, each petal pave-set with old mine-cut diamonds, set amongst diamond-set foliate decorations, the diamonds estimated to weigh a further total of 6 carats, all set in silver and rose gold, circa 1850, measuring 5.8 x 2.7cm, gross weight 12.3grams.
This antique brooch is in very good condition. Unmarked tested as silver, 18ct gold and 9ct pin.
This impressive and eye-catching En Tremblant brooch comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. The multidimensional and naturalistic Tudor rose and leaves of this brooch are completely covered in diamonds which catch the light at every angle. The central rose is a positioned on a coil spring, giving it added movement for optimum sparkle. This elegant and romantic Victorian piece would be perfect on a lapel or blouse collar.
