Edwardian Natural Pearl and Diamond-Set Bee Stick Pin

About the Item

An Edwardian natural pearl and diamond-set bee stick pin, the thorax set with a cream pearl and the abdomen with a gold pearl, both accompanied by GCS Report 5776-4035, stating to be natural saltwater, with old-cut diamond encrusted wings and faceted ruby-set eyes, all set in silver and yellow gold, to a yellow gold pin fitting, circa 1900, gross weight 2.1 grams. This lovely insect stick pin comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This piece features a jewel-set insect perched on the top of a yellow gold stick pin. The insect’s body is made of two pearls, one cream and one yellow. The eyes are glinting rubies, and the wings are each set with three sparkling diamonds. The legs are realistically carved. This charming piece is emblematic of the naturalistic styles of the late Victorian and early Edwardian period. Should you choose to make this purchase we would be delighted to send it to you in a Bentley & Skinner handmade leather case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley & Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
