Fancy Colored Sapphires and Diamond Clover Stick-Pin
About the Item
A late Victorian fancy coloured sapphires and diamond four-leaf clover pin, the brooch set with petals of fancy coloured sapphires, estimated to weigh a total of 0.60 carats, each set to the centre of an old-cut diamond cluster surround, with diamond-encrusted curled stem, the diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 1 carat, all set in silver to a yellow gold mount and pin, circa 1880, the jewelled part measruting approximately 1.8cm long and 1.5cm wide, the pin measuring 6.7cm long, gross weight 2.7 grams.
A lovely sparkling stick pin. This pin is in the shape of a four-leaf clover, which has been a symbol of luck since the nineteenth century. This clover is set throughout with sparkling diamonds, and each leaf is set with a different fancy-coloured sapphire. The sapphires range in colour from dark pink to pale pink to pastel green and provide a wonderful and colourful contrast to the diamonds. This stick pin comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and would add sparkle to a silk tie or the lapel of a jacket.
Should you choose to make this purchase we would be delighted to send it to you in a Bentley & Skinner handmade leather case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley & Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
